4 sustainable fashion brands we LOVE!

The Reformation

This brand ,although on the slightly pricey side, is consciously making an effort to reduce their environmental footprint by calculating the carbon dioxide emissions on each of their products. On their website every garment displays the savings of these footprints to tell you the exact impact of each item. Not only is this brand dedicating themselves to stride towards a more eco-friendly industry but are also producing fresh and innovative collections similar to brands such as Monki and Revolve. We created a casual yet glam look from their latest arrivals with a wide leg denim jean and sensual red deep v neck top perfect for a day drinking outing.

Red Top

Black Jeans

Boyish Jeans

These jeans use one third of the amount of water associated with regular denim and all water is recycled. Instead of using and excessive amount of dips to dye their jeans they use 80% less caustic soda and they also use recycled fabrics called headstock fabrics. Boyish, ,who are partnered with 1% For The Planet, are a brand that provide you with staple denim pieces free from environmental guilt that will go with anything from a classic white tee through the day to sequin bodysuits in the evening. It would have been rude not to go for a double denim look which we chose to pair with some classic black Chuck Taylors for a flared chic fit.

Flared Jeans

Denim Jacket

Kotn

This luxury brand is key to providing you with the wardrobe must haves and classics. Although on the more pricey side for the basics these products are described as premium essentials with shipping being 100% carbon neutral. Kotn is a brand designed in Canada ethically and sustainably made in the Nile Delta. Each item is made with 100% Egyptian cotton and every purchase funds new schools. We decided to go for a cosy casual look consisting of an array of layered chocolate brown and creamy coffee tones to create the essential autumn into winter transitional outfit.

As an act against fast fashion House Of Sunny only produce small runs of each collection producing two seasonal collections a year. We love this as it allows each purchase to feel more unique and special. The label consciously try and use the most sustainable fabrics and manufacturing methods and are also very ethical using no leather, fur or silk in their clothes. This Clueless inspired look includes a jumper with removable sleeves that makes for a staple funky yet classic winter piece and is paired with baggy jeans for the ultimate oversized look.

Cannes 2019 Film Festival: Our Favourite Looks

If theres one thing that Cannes film festival thrives on it glamour and style. Although the 72nd film festival is all about top of the industry directors and movie stars descending down to the south of France to celebrate their new work through screenings and premieres to us its all about what they’re wearing! Our top six red carpet looks shows an array of sequins and tool all with a little touch of Parisian elegance and we are obsessed.

Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid walked down the “Rocketman” premier in a breathtaking white layered tool gown by the no other Dior Haute Couture paired with Christian Louboutin shoes. We loved the simple slicked back hair with diamond earrings and especially loved the unique asymmetrical neckline giving us a fresh new concept from the classic halter strap. The sheer pastel rose tinted fabric to the dress gives us a ballerina-esque feel perfect for Cannes.

Izabel Goulart

We loved Isabel Goulart in this Etro sequin drenched gown and Chopard jewels. This piece is very different to anything else on the red carpet giving a subtle shimmer similar to the one on a rasberry glazed Krispy kreme donut ( which may be why we liked it so much). The silhouette has a curved open back and shoulder pads that make for a very futuristic space-like piece but paired with elegant Daphne purple earrings the look becomes timeless.

Kristen Stewart

Could this girl be any cooler in a classic Chanel boulce suit that feels very comme-des-garcon but also has a feminine edge. This suit was seen in the Chanel Resort 2019 show which Stewert attended a front row seat to and is perfect for a glamorous afternoon along the French rivera. Her Aquazzura Casablanca open toe heels and simple shade finish this vintage fresh power suit we all wish we could pull it off as effortlessly as she does.

Maria Borges

Maria Borges was stunning in this sheer feathered Roberto cavalli gown on the red carpet. If this doesn’t scream The Great Gatsby to you I don’t know what does. . Borges wore the perfect champagne and peachy tones that gave us a classic drool-worthy look for the premier. We are still not over this feminine and sexy gown.

Chloe Lecareux

This elegant and sophistacet sheer layered gown from the new midwestern designer INGIE is giving us huge cinderella vibes and we are definitely here for it. The pastel blue tint compliments her glowy tan gloriously and our blood is boiled with envy as to how well she pulls of a low pulled back ponytail. The gown is dipped in sequins and effortlessly drapes from a deep v neck to an a line silhouette finished with a pink pastel bow.

Elsa Hosk

And of course we couldn’t talk about Cannes film festival without mentioning Elsa Hosk who serves a breathtaking look every year. This year the Victoria’s Secret model wore a devilish red Ermanno Scervino dress paired with satin red stilettos and a bold red lip. We are obsessed with the open leg red tool skirting with a bandeau front the make for the most elegant and bold gown. The dewy make up and slick back hair complete the look perfectly as once again she knocks it out the park.

Dream Designer Bags

After constant drooling over bags the price of our first cars, we decided to make an official wishlist to give to our future husbands (lucky them). We paired them with classic outfits for a wearable look that we can run our errands but flaunt our luxury bags in simultaneously.

Dior Saddle Bag

A bag like no other, this muted baby blue dream is even better in person, through the glass window of a shop we were too intimidated to enter. Stood with our noses pressed up against store door, separating us from the key to our happiness, we admired the intricate brushed gold detailing, screaming class and elegance.

Boy Chanel Handbag in Light Green

This classic Chanel bag, oozing in a rich lime green shade, is the perfect accessory for a neon look or to add an ounce of colour to a neutral outfit. With a unique narrow shape it creates a dainty delicate effect that has 90’s Chanel catwalk written all over it!

Prada Diagramme Medium Leather Bag

We couldn’t have posted this without a staple white bag and what other way to do so than with a Prada gold chain handle number. A spring season essential with fresh and elegant detailing like this one is a must have (for those with the expenses to spare unlike our broke selves) and an absolute beauty to the eye!

Yves Saint Laurent Jamie Medium Carré Rive Gauche

You already know we love this, pink and red is all we ever talk about! This unique geometric pattern in the two most gorgeous shades reflect the epitome of style. We think why not splash out on something that stands out?

Shrimps Antonia Bag in Cream

From the moment we saw this on the arm of Alexa Chung we immediately fell in love with this bag. The pearl beading across the whole bag creates the most luxurious attire and would glam up any outfit.

Fendi Mini Baguette Bag

The classic Fendi Baguette! Need we say more? The signature print and the gold detailing is the perfect addition to any outfit, match with gold jewellery and oversized sunglasses for the most stylish trend.

Basic Blazer

For most of us, a blazer is the boring uniform that we get nagged to wear, and through Monday to Friday, we can’t be caught without it. However, taking inspiration from the iconic Lissy Roddy on Instagram, we have adopted this formal piece for weekends too.  Dressing it down with a casual pair of blue jeans, and worn day with trainers by day, and heels by night, this classic attire is one that’ll never be out of style.

The effortless white blouse and jeans paired with an 80’s inspired cream blazer created a cool, chic look.  Throw on a pair of strappy heals for super relaxed but put together evening attire.

A satin top adds more formality to the dressed down approach with the straight leg jean and white high-top trainer.  Add delicate gold jewellery for a timeless look.

The Boiler Suit

Channelling your inner mechanic, make a statement with this Springs staple piece.  As seen on Alexa Chung, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, this season’s must have been something your wardrobe does not want to be deprived of.  Wear with a white turtle neck and cat eye sunglasses for an elegant edge or a pair of Docs for a grungy look.

A darker wash of denim gives a more tom-boy look but can easily be dressed up by a pair of heels.

This light denim piece can be worn through to summer and has a feminine touch.

A classic long sleeve boiler suit is the ultimate 70’s inspired trend. Add a pair of chunky trainers and a sleek low bun for a day time look perfect for shopping or brunch.

Kendall Jenner effortlessly pulls off this denim jumpsuit and with tan accessories and sunglasses making it the perfect festival wear.

Copy Bella Hadid’s quirky 70’s low cut and flares look for an edgy night-out look. For an eccentric and playful style, add a pair of chunky heels and a mini bag.

Styling Pink and Red

Even though pink and red are an unlikely pairing, it is a colour combination we adore and will fully embrace walking into the spring season.  Whilst these colours have subtly made their way into high street brands like Topshop and Zara, they took charge at fashion week redefining femininity and becoming the epitome of chic.

Nail It

Coincidentally we both picked these tones to wear, but why not be bold and chose both? Try half pink and half red on each individual nail or for an edgy approach, have one hand pink and one hand red

A Statement Piece

Easy, Edgy Eye Looks

Browse these almost effortless eye looks and take inspiration to replicate your own wearable, off the catwalk creations.

The Cat Eye Moment

When the plain Jane wing isn’t really cutting it anymore, add something more with a delicate arc above the crease for a streak of sophistication and elegance.  This look comes with patience and practice, but when perfected it gives a ‘Parisian Girl’ edge. Extend into the inner corner for a feline effect.

Sapphire Chic

For a bold and sexy night-time look add a sheen of metallic cobalt over a smoked matte navy through the crease. Paired with a nude lip and a low messy bun, this look will forever be the epitome of ‘Grunge-Without-Trying’. Although at first sight an ultramarine colour may seem intimidating, but when worn with confidence the ultimate evening wear is achieved.

Graphic Under Eye

For pop of colour add a neon pink to the lash line blending it out into a soft wing. The bubble gum touch makes for an energetic look easy to recreate using a small angled brush. Match with a bright lip for a clubbing occasion or pair with a nude lip for a subtle everyday wear that goes a little bit out the box.

The Glossy Look

A fresh dewy natural appearance can easily be reached with a glossy lid. They require the lowest effort but achieve the highest impact as the creation doesn’t even require the use of a mirror or precision. A gleamy lid using any lip-gloss or balm creates a radiant healthy sheen that can be messy but still make a refined wear perfect for that ‘No Make-up Make up’ look.

Primary Colour Realness

Using a matte monochromatic colour such as a lemon yellow radiates the perfect summer and spring time look. Pair the eye look with fake freckles to the face to create sun kissed feeling. This colour is universally flattering and suits all skin tones and requires little blending skills to create by just packing the colour on the lid using your finger. Its minimalism in the brightest way possible. If you’re feeling adventurous you could also add a gloss on top to mimic a honey glazed style.

Glitter girl

For an 80’s disco on the face drench the lid in chunky glitter and smoke it out. A glam look isn’t complete without a glistening eye used with either a liquid product or loose pigment. It can also be a festival necessity where the glitter doesn’t stop at the lid but on the cheek and collar bones as well. Glitter is a timeless trend and with this colour it brings a look.

Rachel Green- why she will always be our style icon

Growing up watching Friends, and wanting to either be her, or date her, we’ve always idolised Rachel and her effortlessly cool style.  With career envy of her finding her independence in the city by leaving the dentist at the alter to being offered a job at Louis Vuitton in Paris within a matter of seasons, here are some of our favourite looks she has elegantly worn though out the show constructed by the Friends costume designer Debra McGuire.
